The Nuns Who Never Retire: Webathon Novena Day 6
Since evangelization is a participation in the mission of Christ, it isn't so much a matter of what we do as of who we are, as followers of Jesus. No one knows this better than our senior sisters. On this day of our Webathon Novena for communicators, we pray in a special way for the elderly, that they might know that they still have an important, even fundamental role, in the Church's mission. We also invite you today to help us provide our senior sisters a spacious and comfortable area where th...

Intelligent Designers: Webathon Novena Day 5
Today's prayer in the Webathon Novena for communicators is for graphic designers, those talented artists who shape the visual environment of every book, magazine, product package or advertisement you see. Our sister-designers work with the same tools and the same artistic concern for authenticity. We like to think that their work consecrates the work of all graphic designers, gently encouraging them to put their talents at the service of truth. But our sisters face some extra challenges, since t...

The Artist without a Studio: Webathon Novena Day 3
The changing face of media means that not only do our methods of evangelization need to adapt, so do our buildings! Help us to renovate an old warehouse, making it a healthy and light-filled environment where our sister-artists can put beauty at the service of truth. The sisters need your helping hand! During this Webathon Novena, pray with us today for all artists, that their God-given talents may bring them and others closer to Divine Beauty.

Called to be Saints and Apostles: All of Us! Webathon Novena Day 2
On All Saints' Day, a reflection on the Pauline mission to radiate Christ who lives in us. This radiation of truth and love, when combined with the media of communication, is a real way of "going forth" to the "peripheries," as Pope Francis loves to say. Help the Pauline Sisters renovate the "Promised Land" building where much of their media ministry is done! During this Webathon Novena, pray with us day by day for media artists and communications professionals.

“We cannot help but speak about what we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:20).In the last chapter of the Gospel of Mark, the Risen Jesus commands his disciples, “Go out to the whole world and preach the Gospel to all creation” (Mark 16:15). The Scripture quote for this opening day of our Webathon Novena could be the disciples' response: “We cannot help but speak about what we have seen and heard!” (see Acts 4:20). Communication is a human necessity.Technology offers us amazing media for communi...

12 Promises of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

12 Promises of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Our Lord Jesus Christ made these twelve promises to those who honor His Sacred Heart to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, a French nun, whom he called “the Beloved Disciple of the Sacred Heart” and the Heiress “of all Its treasures”, in the 1670’s. They show us how much he cherishes this devotion. Considering that the blood that redeemed us at Calvary came from His Sacred Heart and that so much love and light still exude from it, we can easily understand why! These promises were revealed in one o...

Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus after 50

Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus after 50
In the dining room of our house is an unassuming depiction of the Sacred Heart of Jesus embroidered by my grandmother. I can’t remember a time when it hasn’t graced the walls of our home. Beneath it is a simple glass shelf, a small votive candle, and a pamphlet about the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart in the home. Another image of the Sacred Heart stands out from my childhood. In St. James Church, our parish, to the right of the main altar was a marble statue of the Sacred Heart. I often wou...
