From your sisters in Christ

As members of the Body of Christ, the Daughters of Saint Paul feel deeply united with all those who are devastated and outraged by the unspeakable abuse of children and adults by members of the clergy, and the complicity with this tragic evil by some leaders in the Church.

We grieve with and for all victims of abuse and stand with them, supporting every effort to bring the truth to light.
Truth is timeless. Truth is holiness. Truth sets us free.
We find the fullness of truth only in Jesus Christ,
who is with us now, wounded and suffering in our very midst.

It is in bearing his Cross with him—not turning away from our suffering brothers and sisters—that together we will become a Church no longer crippled by abuse of power; a Church authentically purified and renewed; a Church in which every member—lay and clerical—maturely and responsibly carries out our true roles as full members of the Body of Christ.
A Church more truly centered in Christ who reveals the Father’s love and calls us to be one in union with him.

We pray that “you may know the hope to which God has called you, and the immeasurable greatness of his power” (see Eph. 1:16-19).
