My Jewish Friend
A Young Catholic Learns About Judaism

By Celia Sirois

What Are People Saying about This Title?

“My Jewish Friend brings to life the teachings of the Second Vatican Council about the relationships between Catholics and Jews in a remarkable way. Pope John Paul II, who once spoke to me about Jerzy Kluger, his dear hometown Jewish friend, would surely have approved.”
— Cardinal William H. Keeler
Retired Archbishop of Baltimore

“In this excellent book by master educator Celia Sirois, Chris and David learn about each other’s religion and find interesting similarities and differences. This is religion at its best! I highly recommend this book for Jewish and Catholic children and for their parents.”
— Rabbi Samuel Chiel
Rabbi Emeritus, Temple Emanuel
Newton, Massachusetts“Friendships across religious boundaries are vital, not only for deepening religious identity but also for contributing to a more peaceful world. My Jewish Friend shows how young Jews and Catholics might learn from one another in ways in which differences educate rather than divide. An inspiring book!”
— Sister Mary C. Boys
Skinner and McAlpin Professor of Practical Theology
Union Theological Seminary
